Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 DOE


A respected construction company serving the Bakersfield market is looking to add an Accounting Clerk to its accounting team. With a strong portfolio of projects and a long-standing presence in the community, the company has built a reputation for quality work and dependable service. This role is critical to supporting daily financial operations and ensuring project-related accounting activities remain accurate and organized.
The Opportunity
This position exists to support the accounting function in a fast-paced construction environment where attention to detail and strong organizational skills make a tangible impact. You'll work closely with accounting leadership, project managers, vendors, and operations teams to help maintain accurate financial records, support job costing efforts, and keep workflows running efficiently. What You'll Do
• Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
• Maintain accounts receivable records and apply customer payments to accounts
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger balances
• Support job costing activities by tracking project expenses and maintaining documentation
• Prepare reports and assist with month-end close and other accounting projects
What We're Looking For
• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting clerk experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
• Construction industry experience preferred, including job costing or project accounting exposure
