Required Skills & Experience

BA/BS degree in STEM\n8+ of related and applicable experience\nSecret clearance or higher - if uncleared ability to earn secret clearance\n-An analysis of engineering hardware, mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics assessing fault tolerance, latent hazards, and safety requirements compliance. \n-Work with system test and tactical operation and maintenance procedures to ensure the proper administrative system safety controls are in place. \n-Design of concise, testable safety requirements or providing safety analysis of existing requirements \n-Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. \n-Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds\n-Performing System Safety Program or Design analyses. \n-Monitoring a technical execution program Mentoring Multiple Jr. Engineers Interfacing with stakeholders (e.g. customers, program offices, subcontractors, vendors). \n-Preparing Safety Assessment Reports and Safety Program Briefs for Customer Approval. \n-Briefing safety of the program at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process. Interpreting system requirements, customer specifications and military standards. \n-Preparing internal and customer reports describing various analyses relevant to the System Safety program. \n-Collaborating across multiple disciplines to gain a full understanding of product architecture and design.

Job Description

A client in the MA area is seeking a Sr. System Safety Engineer in support of a federal client. Candidates can sit fully onsite in Tewksbury, Woburn, or Marlborough, MA. Onsite 5x a week support is required. \n\nCandidates are able to start uncleared but must be able to earn at least a secret \nAs a Principal System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will include: \n-Developing and implementing one or more MIL STD 882E compliant system safety programs \n-Performing MIL STD 882 System Safety Program tasks and analyses, involving management (task series 100), analysis (task series 200), evaluation (task series 300), and verification (task series 400). \n-Working across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. \n-Coordinating with customer safety representatives applying methods, standards, and techniques to provide clarification of system requirements to software, hardware, and test personnel to ensure design and architecture considerations are appropriately allocated to the system and horizontally integrated across the development teams. \n-Collaborating with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal backgrounds.
