Intermediate Architectural Designer

About The Role:

The Crowd is partnering with a highly regarded New York design studio to find an Intermediate Architectural Designer to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a designer who has built a strong foundation in practice and is now looking for more responsibility, stronger project exposure and a clearer path towards senior-level work.

The studio works on a varied portfolio of beautifully considered hospitality, residential and lifestyle-led projects, with a strong focus on quality, detail and materiality. You’ll be involved across multiple stages of the design process and work closely with experienced senior designers and project leaders who will give you the opportunity to take on increasing ownership as you develop.

The role would suit someone who enjoys being close to the design, but who is equally comfortable getting into the technical detail, coordinating with consultants and helping move projects through documentation and construction. Alongside a supportive work culture, our client offers a range of benefits, including health and dental coverage, professional development support, 401(k) matching, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop architectural and interiors packages from design development through construction
• Produce detailed drawing sets, specifications and technical information to support project delivery
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and internal project teams throughout the design and construction process
• Review submittals, shop drawings and project documentation, and assist with resolving design and technical issues
• Support material, finish and product research while helping maintain the quality and consistency of the overall design

Key Skills / Requirements

• Around 4–8 years of professional experience within architecture or interior architecture
• Previous experience working on high-end residential, hospitality, restaurant or other design-led projects
• Strong technical and documentation skills, with good knowledge of construction and detailing
• Proficiency in Revit alongside a solid working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
• Confident working with consultants and project teams, with the ambition to take on greater project and client responsibility over time
