Controls Systems Technician

Responsibilities Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Respond to basic warranty calls. Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of service. Load system‑level controller software. Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) and complete all required commissioning documentation. Keep management, contractor, or customer informed of job progress and issues. Calibrate systems requiring basic electronic test equipment. Complete administrative tasks including time sheets, expense reports, and on‑site documentation. Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation. Communicate with the contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site. Follow all safety standards, attend required safety training, and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. Qualifications HVAC license or a 2‑year degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or a similar field. Minimum of 2 years of related working experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems. Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and external contacts ethically and professionally. Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical building automation equipment on a job site. PC experience required and ability to program HVAC‑related software. Compensation Hourly rate: $26.00–$36.00, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Benefits This position includes a competitive benefits package.
