Together, we’re improving health and improving lives. Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist to join our team in Calabasas Hills, CA . Work Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 9:00pm - 7:30am Job Responsibilities Provides technical oversight of laboratory personnel with constant and direct supervision of their test-assisting activities Tests specimens according to established procedures Reviews patient results and reports out to client If assay performs according to specifications, reports results via instrument interface or manual entry in the LIS Follows standard operating procedures regarding acceptance and rejection of results including reviewing all quality control acceptability and recording all remedial actions if runs are not acceptable. Alerts management to problems in quality control methods and procedures Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, documents PM appropriately, makes minor repairs and immediately contacts appropriate personnel for problems requiring more complex repairs Develops an ever-increasing understanding of laboratory medicine and the clinical significance of laboratory results Adheres to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of Esoterix, CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies Documents all activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job related duties requested by department management Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology California state issued Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) Generalist license or California Clinical Chemist Scientist (CCS) License Preferred Qualification Current or prior Labcorp experience Additional Job Standards Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems Strong communication skills; both written and verbal High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and within a team environment Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs Pay Range: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour plus shift differential Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
