Vaughn Construction Accounting Specialist

Vaughn Construction is seeking an Accounting Specialist to ensure accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements. Duties include performing a variety of complex clerical and entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Processes high volume of AP invoices and Check Runs
• Manages AP invoice emails
• Process and route invoices in accounting software after determining job number and sales tax.
• Answer vendor and project team inquiries.
• Manage vendor statement of accounts.
• Performs other duties to ensure successful services are delivered and customers are satisfied.
• Maintains excellent attendance and punctuality.

Education and Training

• Associate degree (AA) or Equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; High School graduate or equivalent.
• Two to five years of accounting or related experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Skilled in 10-key by touch is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Knowledge of Sage 300 and pVault (Paperless System)
• Ability to identify and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
• Prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies feedback to improve performance.
• Meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
• Adapts to change in the work environment.
• Manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
• Detailed oriented, good with basic math, and can work in a team environment.
