Salary Range: $19.39 to $20.19 hourly Summary / Objective Primary job responsibility is to help persons with developmental disabilities and/or mental health disorders succeed in the community, schools, work, and family integration and contribution. Services may be delivered to children or adults during the day, evening, and/or weekend based upon the client’s needs. The Behavior Technician will work with individuals and families to provide person-centered care and treatment services. Services may be provided in the home and/or community based upon client needs. Staff will primarily receive supervision through on-site and telehealth observation and feedback. Essential Functions Assist the client in achieving personal independence in managing basic needs, including coping skills, self-advocacy, self-care, communication, social skills and leisure time management. Facilitate the development of daily living skills such as personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, toileting, dressing, showering and care of personal property. Monitor, document, and support the client’s developmental disability needs and/or mental health symptoms. Provide skill development opportunities specific to the consumer’s needs and treatment plan; offer choice-making and communication opportunities whenever possible. Maintain data, documents, records and materials related to assigned individuals and treatment plans. Assist in monitoring goal progression and identify when interventions are needed due to lack of progress. Ensure proper procedures are followed regarding each individual’s inherent rights. Attend required training, including monthly QBHS supervision, annual Relias training, and other scheduled sessions in the community or client’s home. Maintain certifications and clinical requirements, such as CPR, First Aid, annual training, evaluations, and timekeeping in ADP. Maintain certification in Ukeru (trauma-informed care, blocking, and personal safety training). This position does not require restraint or restrictive interventions. Submit service records electronically within 48 hours and all incident reports and MUIs on the same day as the incident, notifying the supervisor immediately. Collect data for behavior reduction and skill teaching during each session; submit daily. Seek, receive, and apply feedback professionally and work toward goals developed with clients, treatment teams, and supervisors. Maintain professionalism, interpersonal boundaries, and confidentiality when working with clients, families, friends, and team members. Follow employee handbook and Boundless policies and procedures; read and understand all policies. Work scheduled hours and obtain supervisor approval in advance for any changes in hours or shifts. Transport clients when appropriate and safe for clients and staff. Perform any other duties, responsibilities, or tasks directed by the supervisor. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Intermediate computer and tablet skills. Caring, compassionate, and motivated to help others learn new skills. Effective collaboration and teamwork oriented. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Thoroughness, attention to detail, and desire to teach new skills. Required Education and Experience Minimum age 18 years. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to communicate in English, both spoken and written. Preferred Education and Experience Three years of experience working with vulnerable populations, especially those with developmental disabilities or mental health disorders. College degree in a related field. Experience in ABA. Licensure / Certification Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR – adult, child, and infant (training provided if not already certified). Valid Ohio Driver’s License with proof of auto insurance and driving record (five points or fewer). Additional Eligibility Qualifications Ability to work independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the skill to work effectively with clients, families, and other professionals. Openness to feedback and constructive criticism in teaching and job operations. Ability to make independent decisions when appropriate. Maintenance of all required licenses, certifications, training, and credentialing. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibility. Physical Demands Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently to stand, walk, and use hands and arms. Employee may lift, bend, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. May implement crisis intervention using Ukeru blocking and personal safety techniques. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time/part-time position. Hours of work and days will be based on assigned shifts. Additional shifts may be picked up with supervisor approval. During unexpected or temporary inability to provide services in the community (inclement weather, pandemic, client illness or hospitalization, etc.), shift start and end times may vary. Travel Local travel may be required if transporting clients in their community. Travel between client homes may be needed if working multiple shifts.
