Relocation Assistance (based on eligibility) Department Profile The 11 DCT Ortho Step down Unit at Duke University Hospital is a 37‑bed Musculoskeletal Trauma Specialty Step‑down unit located in the new Duke Central Tower. Work Hours & Shifts Full time: 12‑hour rotating shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m. or straight night 7 p.m.–7 a.m.) with weekend rotations. Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you will prioritize patient service and care for the whole person in a patient‑centered environment. The RN is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to achieve department goals, and participating in the clinical ladder program, education, committees, and research projects. Knowledge, Skills, Education, and Experience Required Previous work experience (1+ year) as a clinical nurse. Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (B.N.), Associate’s Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a bachelor’s degree must enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of start date and complete it within seven years. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or current compact RN licensure.
