Responsible for the daily maintenance operations and general appearance of the entire distribution center including; (1) selecting, maintaining, and managing operational budget expenses and controls for all material handling devices, power equipment, operational and building support devices, and special projects as assigned by the General Manager; (2) maintaining and administering all general maintenance requests and services required to support distribution center operations; (3) supervising daily activities of the maintenance department; (4) ensuring all contracted services meet company standards and fulfill all obligations in support of the distribution center operation; (5) managing the inbound and outbound recycling programs for cardboard and plastic; and (6) developing programs to extend equipment life and reliability in support of twenty-four hour operations. Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities Coordinate, maintain and supervise all distribution center support activities relating to material handling equipment, structural devices, and general quality of life issues that may impact operations. Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance department activities with stated goals of increased efficiency, improved effectiveness, and accountability. Manage all maintenance related service and supply vendors to ensure accountability of parts and service of all equipment, essential to the distribution center operations. Enforce established safety policies and procedures in order to minimize team‑member injuries. Operate in accordance with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) standards. Ensure all maintenance team‑members understand and comply with all BJ's expectations, rules, and regulations. Manage the flow of all inbound recycled material, i.e., cardboard, plastic and paper, being returned from the selling clubs and all outbound recycled material to the appropriate vendor. Oversee a reporting system for tracking building and equipment repair and monitor the preventive maintenance programs to minimize expenses and interruptions to distribution center operations. Qualifications Trade or Technical School required 2 – 4 years experience in building and material handling equipment maintenance Knowledgeable in all aspects of maintenance repair methods Organization Skills Oral and written communication skills Job Conditions In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $58,000.00 - $74,000.00.
