Remote IT Support Assistant

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client for an entry-level, fully remote IT Support Assistant to join their growing technology team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their IT career to build hands-on troubleshooting experience, learn enterprise systems, and grow into more advanced technical roles while working from anywhere in the US.

Day to day, you will field help desk tickets, walk end users through fixes over chat, email, and phone, and document solutions so issues get resolved faster the next time. The role suits someone who is naturally curious about how computers and networks work, stays calm when a user is frustrated, and enjoys the satisfaction of turning a broken laptop or locked account back into a non-issue.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming help desk tickets via phone, email, and chat
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for remote employees
• Reset passwords and manage user accounts in Active Directory
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff when needed
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the ticketing system
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employee equipment and accounts
• Support basic network connectivity and VPN troubleshooting
• Maintain inventory of laptops, peripherals, and software licenses
• Provide guidance on company-approved software and security practices
• Follow up with users to confirm issues are fully resolved

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree in IT or related field a plus
• Basic understanding of Windows and Mac operating systems
• Familiarity with common software tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• CompTIA A+ certification or coursework is a plus but not required
• Reliable home internet connection and a quiet workspace
• Willingness to learn new tools and systems quickly
