IT Support Technician

Job Purpose and Objectives: Responsible for maintaining Ellis County's computer services and equipment supported by the Information Technology Department. Essential Functions: Configures and troubleshoots PC and peripheral hardware and software Responds to desktop trouble-tickets such as issues related to cabling, Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) and PC security applications such as anti-virus and operating system updates Performs routine troubleshooting and maintenance on PC's, accounts, applications, and UPS's Documents configurations and maintains enterprise repository of systems documentation Manages PC and peripheral hardware repair coverage including recommendations and tracking of systems to be covered via critical contract versus out-of-warranty repair Trains and assists computer system users Manages County hosted telephone solution and wireless phones and devices Analyzes PC and printer usage for the most efficient utilization of system resources Performs diagnostics on hardware and notifies vendor if repairs are needed Enforces and maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary Complies with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures Operates all job-related equipment, machinery, tools, and other aids as required or needed Protects and maintains any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic
