Maintenance Mechanic IIIThe General Services Department is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic III, who will provide general and skilled preventive and corrective maintenance on various HVAC, carpentry, mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems and equipment. This role is responsible for conducting routine maintenance checks, completing maintenance tasks to repair, preserve the quality of a facility, and ensure operational needs are met for the department.This position also is responsible for performing the following duties but is not limited to:Driving to inspect various systems and equipment. Make required corrections, test for satisfactory and safe operations.Use internal work order management system to record and document equipment history.Perform maintenance duties such as carpentry, plumbing, painting and roofing repairs as part of a comprehensive facilities maintenance team.Perform quality checks on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.Perform groundskeeping duties to facilities that contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance (i.e. mowing, weed eating, tree trimmingMay perform other duties as needed.Working Conditions: The position involves considerable physical exertion, such as regular climbing of ladders, lifting of heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) on a highly frequent basis and/or assuming awkward positions for long periods of time. There are routine exposures to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture and air pollution. The position may involve periodic exposure to chemical substances and physical trauma of a minor nature such as cuts, bruises and minor burns. Requires the ability to make closely coordinated eye/hand movements within very fine tolerance and/or calibration demands; or the ability to make rapid closely coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within somewhat fine tolerance demands; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements within fine tolerances with large equipment as an extension of the worker.
