What You’ll DoDesign, implement, and operate cloud networking components within the AWS Landing Zone (VPCs, subnets, routing, gateways, load balancing)Build and maintain standardized, reusable networking patterns for application teamsImplement and support hybrid connectivity solutions such as VPN and, where applicable, Direct ConnectPartner with security and platform teams to apply network security controls and segmentationSupport onboarding of application teams by integrating networking requirements into landing‑zone‑approved patternsMonitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network and connectivity issues across cloud servicesContribute to operational tooling and documentation for network observability and supportWhat to ExpectOwnership of assigned networking services and components within the cloud platformCollaboration across regions and time zones in an Agile squad modelExposure to real‑world enterprise networking and security challenges in AWSA strong culture of learning, automation, and continuous improvementParticipation in a 24/7 on‑call support rotation for critical servicesMust be eligible to work in the US without sponsorshipRequired Skills5–7 years of experience in cloud networking, infrastructure, or platform engineeringHands‑on experience designing and operating AWS networking constructs (VPC, subnets, routing, NAT, gateways, load balancing)Practical experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines)Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, firewalling, and traffic flowsExperience working with network security concepts such as segmentation, security groups, and NACLsComfortable working in Linux environments, with Git‑based workflowsStrong collaboration skills and a sense of ownership for operational reliabilityStrong DifferentiatorsExperience with Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, or hybrid architecturesFamiliarity with AWS Landing Zone / Control Tower environmentsKnowledge of AWS network security services (Network Firewall, WAF, Shield)Experience designing multi-account and multi-region architecturesWhy Join SWIFTWork on high-impact infrastructure supporting a global financial networkInfluence cloud networking architecture at enterprise scaleBe part of a highly mature AWS and platform engineering organizationSolve complex security, scale, and connectivity challengesClear path toward Principal Engineer / Architect rolesEducation & CertificationsDegree in Computer Science or a related fieldAWS and/or networking certifications are a plus (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking, security certifications)The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $101,303 USD Annual to $188,135 Annual USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
