• Interpret customer requirements, technical specifications, and applicable industry standards to define design inputs and constraints
• Design & prototype complex rugged enclosures and housings
• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews
• Communicate with international and domestic vendors to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing & cost (DFM).
• Lead prototype builds
• Facilitate design transfer to our onsite and international production sites

Experience Level with Business Tools

• • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of Solidworks, including surfacing techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of a variety of manufacturing techniques: injection molding, CNC machining, sheet metal, MIM, 3D printing, composites
  • Design of products which balance complex considerations such as thermal, EMI, ingress protection, ergonomics, aesthetics
  • A solid understanding of GD&T
  • A history of working in multidisciplinary teams

Typical Education and Experience

• • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies occasionally.

  • Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools Frequently .
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities.
  • Work environments includes: _machine shop, plus items listed next ( exposure to chemicals, electrical current, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, open flame, working from heights, cold environment, hot environment, uneven surface, fumes).
