Job Description

The Physical Therapist will evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on individual needs, goals, and physician directives. The role emphasizes the design of functional treatment programs to aid patients' return to community activities. Additionally, the therapist will serve as an educator for patients, families, students, and colleagues, contributing to the overall development of discipline-specific therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients and use clinical reasoning to create effective treatment plans focused on achieving discharge goals within an established length of stay.
• Document patient care activities clearly, accurately, and timely in compliance with clinic policies and state and federal guidelines.
• Ensure all care is provided under valid physician orders and within insurance approvals.
• Participate in student programs by providing a supportive learning environment and completing evaluations.
• Develop and execute a professional growth plan, engaging in ongoing education and self-study to enhance professional capabilities.
• Adhere to ethical standards, maintaining professional licensure in good standing and completing all required continuing education.
• Understand and engage with organizational performance improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of outpatient orthopedic experience.
• No new graduates will be considered for this position.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Physical Therapy licensure in Virginia.
• CPR certification required.
