The Vice President of Administration and CFO serves as the College’s Chief Financial Officer, providing leadership and management for all aspects of the College’s business, financial and accounting services, student financial aid, and bursar. This position is responsible for budget planning, internal control, and contract administration. Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or events may be required. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds (occasionally may be more), repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical office and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. Financial Management and Fiscal Oversight (30%) -Lead development of the College budget and control expenditures Act as financial advisor to the President and Board of Trustees Provide financial reports (income, expenditures, etc.) to the Board Monitor reserve funds and ensure institutional fiscal health Ensure internal controls, audits, and financial compliance Provide insurance and risk management oversight Conduct financial evaluations and cost-effectiveness analysesStrategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (30%) - Align budgeting and planning with the College’s mission and strategic plan Establish processes for financial evaluation of programs and activities Assess effectiveness of planning and resource allocation Assist the President in interpreting data tied to community needs Contribute to achieving institutional strategic objectivesOperations and Infrastructure Management (20%) -Oversee physical plant operations, maintenance, and protection Manage facilities, infrastructure, and technology planning Oversee construction project financials and planning Administer inventory, property control, and space utilization programsManage public-private partnerships (e.g., bookstore, food services, energy projects, land leases)External Relations & Advocacy (10%) - Represent the College to external stakeholders and groups Maintain relationships with federal, state, and local officials Provide input on legislative activities affecting higher education financeExecutive Leadership (10%) - Effective oversight and leadership of the College’s Financial, Information Technology, Facilities, Auxiliary Services, and Public Safety areasPrepare reports for communication with the President and leadership Support transparency and informed decision-making through reporting Ensure effective communication between Administrative Services and executive leadershipIdentify needed changes in policies, procedures, and processes Implement or recommend improvements within areas of responsibilityServes on the President’s leadership team and other committees (internal and external) and represents the President in a variety of settings as requestedAdvises the President for execution of the mission and goals of the College and in sensitive employee situationsEmbodies the College’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through leadership and actionCollaborates with counterparts within the broader SUNY systemOther duties as assigned by College President SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Bachelor degree in finance, business administration, accounting or related field and 5+ years of management experience in accounting, budget, or financial planning and analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceDemonstrated financial management experience preferably in higher education organizations. Experience with enterprise systems (Banner preferred), with other enterprise systems experience accepted, i.e. PeopleSoft, Colleague, etc.Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in written and oral format to administrative staff, professional colleagues, governing boards, and the general public in large or small group settingsProven ability to work as a team player, appropriately exhibiting a positive attitude and the ability to work in an environment characterized by complex factors, competing priorities, ambiguous situations, and resource challengesWorking knowledge of budgeting, and equipment replacement planning.Ability to work with confidential informationPreferred Qualification: CPA designationFamiliarity with SUNY Financial Guidelines for Community CollegesMaster’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or related fieldExperience in Governmental Accounting Laws and regulations Experience with Ellucian/Banner systems.Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with college faculty, staff, administrators and governing boardsAdditional Information: VISA Sponsorship is not currently offered for this positionEmployment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a background checkVerification of official college transcript is required for this positionStarting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including, but not limited to relevant experience, education, market demands, and training.
