In this senior-level role, you will lead the design and production of complex transportation deliverables supporting urban and rural roadways, intersections, streetscapes, rail lines, and major capital improvements. This is an exciting opportunity to mentor junior designers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate, coordinated solutions that strengthen transportation networks and the communities they serve.What You'll Do:Lead the research, preparation, and production of highway and rail design drawings using industry software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3DCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions for roadway, intersection, streetscape, right-of-way, rehabilitation, and rail projectsProvide technical oversight and mentorship to junior designers, ensuring project drawings are accurate, consistent, coordinated, and aligned with applicable standardsExamine complex contract documents and drawings for errors, revising as needed to align with contract specifications and project requirementsSupport the development of technical reports, material costs, construction estimations, and production schedules for transportation infrastructure projects Conduct project review meetings and prepare project “As-Builts” documentationWhat You Bring:Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or related technical field requiredMinimum of 12 years of experience in document production within the engineering discipline requiredMassDOT experience strongly preferredProficient in discipline-based software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative work ethic and strong problem-solving capabilitiesExpert working knowledge of engineering discipline with strong expertise in design drawing layoutWhy You'll Love It Here:Help shape roads, highways, intersections, streetscapes, and rail infrastructure that improve safety, mobility, and access to opportunityBring your expertise to a diverse portfolio of transportation projects, from cost-effective rehabilitation efforts to major capital improvementsCurious about the impactful work our Highway & Rail team is doing?
