The facility features an 8-bed department with strong support resources and is committed to delivering high-quality critical care services to its pediatric patient population.

Opportunity:
Physician (MD) – Pediatrics – Critical Care Medicine

Job Details:

• Provide pediatric critical care services with 8-12 patient encounters per shift in an 8-bed department
• Must hold an active Indiana medical license – no IMLC accepted
• Board certification required (minimum board certification eligible)
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe of 45-60 days
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation for both newborn and pediatric patients (acute and chronic)
• Perform non-invasive ventilation management including neo-puff
• Perform endotracheal and nasotracheal intubations in both newborn and pediatric patients
• Administer conscious and deep sedation
• Insert and manage central lines, arterial lines, umbilical venous catheters (UVC), and umbilical arterial catheters (UAC)
• Perform lumbar punctures, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Perform chest tube insertion and needle pneumothorax decompression
• Interpret X-rays and EKGs
• Perform and manage PA catheter placement and exchange transfusions
• Suture minor lacerations and perform circumcisions
• Conduct swallow studies
• Manage invasive ventilation including ETT, NT, and tracheostomy
• Manage non-invasive ventilation including BiPAP and CPAP
• Demonstrate familiarity with nitric oxide (iNO) use and ECMO
• Perform bronchoscopy with bronchial alveolar lavage (BAL)
• Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues
• Place temporary pacemakers and perform ICP evaluation, management, and monitor placement
• Place hemodialysis catheters and perform diagnostic/therapeutic taps
• Nearest airport is Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA)
