Registered Nurse Acute Care

Role Overview The registered nurse (RN) provides high-quality, safe patient-centered care in an inpatient oncology medical-surgical unit. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care using evidence-based practices. Key Responsibilities Perform nursing processes and clinical assessments, ensuring care is tailored to patient needs and cultural diversity. Partner with patients and families through effective communication, education, and shared decision-making. Coordinate and document safe, quality care while promoting teamwork, respectful communication, and inclusive clinical environment. Participate in performance improvement, research activities, and shared governance to enhance patient outcomes. Support professional development as a preceptor or mentor, complete mandatory education, and uphold organizational policies and standards. Advocate for evidence-based practice, contribute to protocol development, and optimize resource utilization. Qualifications & Skills Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred). Current RN license (single or multi-state compact) and BLS certification. Less than one year of clinical experience required; preferred prior direct patient care experience. Knowledge of clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care.
