Pediatric Occupational Therapist (OT)

A Pediatric Long-Term Care Facility in Brooklyn is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join its rehabilitation team. This position offers the opportunity to work with medically complex pediatric residents and help them develop the skills needed to maximize their independence, participation, and quality of life.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric patients and be passionate about helping children achieve developmental and functional milestones.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate pediatric residents and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and functional independence
• Assess cognitive, developmental, physical, and sensory needs
• Establish treatment goals and regularly monitor progress
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, educators, and family members to coordinate care
• Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and home programs
• Recommend adaptive equipment, positioning devices, and environmental modifications as needed
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements
• Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and resident reviews

Qualifications

• Active New York State Occupational Therapist license required
• Pediatric experience strongly preferred
• Experience in Pediatric Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, School-Based Therapy, Early Intervention, or Pediatric Outpatient settings is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care

Compensation & Benefits

• $45.00 $52.00 per hour
