Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic (Tacoma Area)

Position Summary

We are seeking an empathetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to deliver direct, patient-centered clinical care to pediatric patients ranging from newborns to young adults. Stepping into this high-volume role, you will work closely with providers, administer immunizations, assist with specialized procedures, and float across local clinics to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs, and update patient medical history in Epic.

• Prepare and administer vaccines and immunizations to diverse age groups, from infants through young adults.

• Assist providers with pediatric clinical procedures including circumcisions, suture removals, and breathing treatments.

• Maintain clean, fully sanitized examination rooms and patient care spaces.

• Provide direct clinical workflow support across high-volume clinic settings (18-26 patients per day).

Qualifications

• Licensure: Active Washington State Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) credential and current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.

• Experience: Prior experience in Pediatrics or Family Medicine is preferred.

• EHR: Proficiency with Epic software or similar EMR systems preferred.

• Mobility: Willingness and ability to float between clinics across Tacoma, Federal Way, and Gig Harbor (schedules and locations provided in advance).

• Requirements: Comfort and competency administering high-volume immunizations; completion of standard background check, drug screen, and health clearances.

Schedule & Setting

• Setting: Outpatient Pediatric Clinic

• Work Style: On-site with float rotation across the local area

• Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week), four 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, Mon-Fri) with a weekend rotation (~1 Saturday every 6-8 weeks, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Rate: $26.40 - $39.46 / hour (based on experience)
