Gravel Train/Doubles Driver (Newport)

DHT Group is hiring four experienced Gravel Train / Doubles Drivers for our Newport, Michigan operation.

This is a local, home-daily position paying $25$28 per hour, depending on qualifications, for experienced drivers who know gravel trains and take pride in operating safely, professionally, and efficiently.

Experience in motor transport, logistics, heavy equipment, combat engineering, transportation, or fuel operations can translate well to a career with DHT, and we encourage qualified veterans to apply.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate gravel train / doubles equipment
• Complete pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections
• Couple and uncouple trailers and connect air/electrical lines
• Monitor load weight and distribution
• Maintain required DOT logs and documentation
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and coworkers
• Comply with weigh-station requirements
• Maintain DHT safety and compliance standards

What You Need

• Valid CDL-A
• T endorsement
• Valid medical card
• Acceptable driving record
• At least 1 year of verifiable CDL-A experience
• At least 6 months of gravel train experience
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to meet DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening requirements
• 6+ months of dump experience preferred

Requirements

• Acceptable driving record
• Valid Med card
• CDLA
• T endorsement
• At least one year of verifiable CDLA truck driving experience
• At least 6 months of gravel train experience

Preferred Requirements

• At least 6 months of dump experience

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds

Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen

Must be able to pass a DOT physical
