Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-Hour Shifts) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 45-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a general M/S population including post-surgical, cardiac, respiratory, and GI patients
• Perform and document thorough patient assessments using strong critical thinking skills; complete NIHSS and dysphagia screenings as requiredManage clinical skills including PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, drip management (heparin, cardizem), PEG/NG tubes, ostomy care, remote telemetry monitoring, and blood product administration
• Float within skillset to other campus locations as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus floats
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements (every third weekend; every other holiday)
• May be required to precept students and new hires in accordance with teaching facility expectations

Required Qualifications

• Current, active Compact RN License required
• AHA BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent, strong Medical-Surgical experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Recent EPIC charting experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a broad M/S patient population including post-operative care (gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, hip/knee replacements, ORIFs), CHF, COPD, sepsis, GI bleeds, and respiratory conditions
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, professional approach
