District Support Pharmacist Full Time

Within our Retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence, act as a role model for all, and support our pharmacy teams. Responsibilities Travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator (DPC). Oversee the pharmacy and serve as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures. Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the only or the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the pharmacy team, and resolving insurance/medication issues. Offer and deliver immunizations, engage Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize. Support inventory management, including cold chain products. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs while fostering a safe, inclusive team dynamic. Maintain clinical and technical skills; pursue ongoing training and CMEs. Deliver pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible. Understand and comply with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS Health policies. Essential Functions Ability to travel within a reasonable radius for market staffing. Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Skill & Knowledge Attention and Focus: Concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between tasks, confirm prescription information. Customer Service and Team Orientation: Actively help people in a friendly manner and respond to patient reactions appropriately. Communication Skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication; listen actively and ask questions. Mathematical Reasoning: Determine dosage calculations and inventory quantities. Problem Resolution: Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; move fingers repetitively; extend hand(s) to move or lift items; stoop and bend at the waist. Close visual acuity is required for inspecting items and operating computer terminals. Occasionally lift up to 20 lbs; frequently lift up to 10 lbs. Express ideas accurately through verbal communication. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Preferred Qualifications 1‑2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
