As an HR Team Member in one of our facilities, you'll champion shaping that culture. Acting as a strategic business partner, you'll provide direction and support in all areas of Human Resources while driving practices that help our people and our business thrive.
Your responsibilities will span a wide range of critical HR functions, including onboarding, workforce planning, talent development, employee engagement and relations, change management, compliance, HR reporting, and HRIS. You'll also support performance management and engagement initiatives that bring Winland's values to life-fostering collaboration, building trust, and ensuring every employee has the opportunity to succeed.

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $63k to $90k with additional bonus potential

Operational Support & Administration:

• Maintain accurate personnel files and confidential HR records.
• Process new hire paperwork, terminations, and employee status changes.
• Assist with the administration of benefits programs, payroll, and leave requests.
• Manage and administer employee benefits, including open enrollment and claims resolution.
• Conduct exit interviews and analyze data to identify trends.
• Employee Engagement, Relations & Compliance:
  
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Coordinate logistics for plant-wide events and activities with each month's event sponsor.
  • Assist in communicating details of events to all employees.
  • Gather employee feedback on event effectiveness through simple surveys.
  • Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Talent Acquisition & Learning & Development:

• Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
• Support the onboarding and orientation process for new employees.
• Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract top talent.
• Coordinate and facilitate training and development programs.

• Documentation, Communication & Continuous Improvement:
  
  • Create and distribute internal communications related to HR policies and updates.
  • Maintain and update the HR information system with employee data.
  • Participate in improvement projects.
  • Actively participate in all required training.
  • Participate in 5S efforts.
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and update company policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Training and Experience:

Education & Experience:

• Experience and aptitude with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems).
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Outlook).
• Previous experience in Human Resources.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred

Technical & Mechanical Skills:

• Advanced levels require proficiency in MII, WE systems, and interpreting line huddle measures to resolve issues.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong customer service, relationship-building, and follow-up skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Results-driven and process-oriented mindset.
• Proven analytical capabilities.

Safety & Compliance:

• Knowledge of GMPs, SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and other food safety regulations preferred.
• Commitment to following all company safety policies and procedures.

• Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Provide training, guidance, and feedback to team members (progressively more responsibility at higher levels).

Physical Demands:

• Must have normal hearing and vision (with correction if needed), including the ability to distinguish colors for color-coded containers in production areas.
• Employee must wear all required PPE according to the specific manufacturing environment, as outlined in the Employee Handbook, posted policies, or as directed by leadership.
• Must adhere to all safety policies, including lock-out/tag-out, safe lifting techniques, and others as instructed.
• Exposure to wet, humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high areas, fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical risks, and vibrations depending on the area assigned
• Must maintain a clean and safe work environment and report any food safety or quality issues immediately to management.
