Job Description The Safety Specialist at our client’s New Martinsville, WV facility plays a crucial role in advancing occupational health and safety initiatives. This position emphasizes sustainable risk reduction, regulatory compliance, and cultivating a proactive safety culture through comprehensive program development, training, auditing, and active employee engagement within a medium-sized safety team. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with OSHA and site‑specific safety policies and procedures. Develop and deliver effective safety training and programs for employees and contractors. Support site emergency preparedness and participate on the emergency response team. Collaborate with industrial hygiene and medical teams to mitigate health‑related risks. Assist in managing the facility’s security program and act as backup Facility Security Officer. Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions. Investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and support corrective measures. Lead employee safety committees and promote safety awareness initiatives. Analyze safety data and incident reports to identify trends and drive continuous improvement. Champion a proactive safety culture throughout the facility. Required Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in industrial safety and health. Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field is required. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and best practices in manufacturing environments. Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, plant‑based environment. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in industrial safety and health. Advanced knowledge of OSHA regulations and risk management. Expertise in safety training, incident investigation, and data analysis.
