Contracts Management SpecialistBehind every satellite that reaches orbit sits a chain of contracts, proposals and negotiations that have to be managed precisely and in line with federal regulation, or the mission simply doesn’t happen. Our client needs a Contracts Management Specialist to lead proposal preparation, contract negotiation and contract administration across a portfolio of national security space programmes, working directly with US Government customers.If you have a strong grounding in FAR and DFARS, are comfortable across multiple contract types, and want your work to directly underpin programmes that matter, this role offers a genuinely varied and high impact contracts career.The roleYou will interface directly with customers and business partners across proposal preparation, contract negotiation and contract administration for a portfolio of programmes. On the proposal side, that means examining requirements, analysing terms and conditions to assess risk, and reviewing Basis of Estimates for accuracy and completeness. On the administration side, you’ll process contractual documentation, advise management on contractual rights and obligations, maintain historical records, and prepare regular reporting.You’ll also support shipment, billing and payment processes, interface with DCMA as required, and prepare supporting documentation such as proprietary information agreements, associate contractor agreements and export licences. Interpreting FAR guidance and managing flow downs across contract types is a core part of the role.What you’ll needBachelor’s degree or higher5 or more years of contract related experienceWorking knowledge of the FAR and DFARS, with general knowledge of pre award and post award federal contracting practices, techniques and standardsExperience across multiple contract types including cost plus, fixed price, and time and materialsUS Citizenship with an active Top Secret clearance (active within the last 24 months)What sets candidates apartDemonstrated ability to handle moderately complex contract administration tasks and support competitive proposal development with minimal supervisionExperience working with commercial partners in the defense industryExperience working with the government as a prime contractor, ideally for the Department of DefenseExperience with Other Transaction Agreements (OTA)Experience with CostPointDarwin Recruitment is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.Adam Slade
