Staff Accountant

Our client is an industry leader with a 70 year track record of growth and profitability. The Accounting team is looking for an organized and analytical individual, who wants to continue to develop their skills and grow with the company. As a Staff Accountant, you will help maintain accurate financial records for the Client's homebuilding and mortgage operations with responsibility for reviewing, analyzing, reconciling and updating financial statements and management reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review, analyze, and evaluate journal entries submitted by operational personnel to determine if entry is appropriate, accurate, and complete
Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Account for fixed assets and maintain records for book and tax history
Prepare and review internal management reports
Interact with operations personnel to obtain explanations and support for account balances and activity

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
General ledger and account reconciliation experience
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen within 48 hours of acceptance
