Experience in a food service environment is preferred but not required. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food service. Responsibilities Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and hand-washing techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area and kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors as needed. Assist in the proper disposal of waste and recycling materials to ensure a clean and safe working environment. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Support kitchen staff by ensuring that clean dishes and utensils are readily available for food preparation and service. Skills The required skills for this position are essential for performing daily tasks efficiently. Basic reading skills are necessary to understand cleaning instructions and safety guidelines. The ability to lift and carry heavy items is crucial for moving stacks of dishes and equipment. Standing for extended periods is a regular part of the job, as dishwashing requires continuous activity.
