About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year in high-risk obstetrics License: Valid RN License Certifications: NRP, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Valid RN License - NRP - Intermediate Fetal Monitoring - BLS - ACLS Description: Candidates must be able to work on Mother/Baby, as floating to that unit is required. 3 to 5 years of experience in high-risk obstetrics is needed. Unit Information: The unit has 21 beds, 4 recovery rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 bed OBED. There are 80 staff members on the unit. Staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 10-12 RNs during the day shift, and 1 charge nurse and 7-9 RNs during the night shift, along with OB techs and unit secretaries. Patient ratios follow AWHONN staffing standards. Equipment includes GE fetal monitors, Acumen, JADA, EMR Meditec, and CPN. There is no on-call requirement. Staff may occasionally float to Mother Baby or assist with feeder-growers in NICU. Typical procedures include labor, delivery, and recovery of patients, circulating in the OR, and caring for high-risk antepartum patients as needed. Staff are expected to triage and assess pregnant patients at all pregnancy stages. The ideal candidate should be a team player, flexible, and maintain a positive attitude. Unit guidelines and policies are available as needed. The unit is a Level IV maternity center, caring for routine and high-risk obstetric patients. Availability for two weekends per schedule is required. Preference-based scheduling is offered.
