Excavation Project Manager
Location: Victor, Idaho
Position: Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate
Pay: $45–$60+/hour DOE
We are seeking an experienced Excavation Project Manager to lead earthwork and underground utility operations for the ongoing development of a multi-phase residential subdivision in Victor, Idaho.
This is not a general equipment operator position. We are looking for someone who can take a complete set of civil plans, understand every aspect of the project, organize the work, direct the crew, and successfully complete all excavation and underground utility installations with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Lead all excavation operations from initial site preparation through final grading.
Interpret and execute civil construction plans, profiles, utility drawings, and grading plans.
Coordinate daily activities of equipment operators, laborers, subcontractors, truck drivers, and utility crews.
Install and coordinate underground sewer, water, storm drain, and dry utility infrastructure.
Tie into existing municipal infrastructure while maintaining required grades and tolerances.
Modify, raise, lower, and install new manholes, valve boxes, catch basins, and related utility structures.
Perform precise grading for roads, building pads, utilities, and drainage systems.
Operate excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers, compactors, and other heavy equipment as needed.
Utilize GPS machine control, laser levels, rotating lasers, and grade control systems to achieve accurate elevations.
Schedule work efficiently while maintaining production, safety, and quality standards.
Coordinate inspections and ensure work complies with engineered plans and applicable specifications.
Perform equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance as needed.
Required Experience
Applicants should have extensive experience in heavy civil construction and underground utilities.
Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate experience with:
Reading and interpreting complete civil engineering plans.
Sewer, water, and storm drain installation.
Utility tie-ins and municipal infrastructure.
Manhole installation and modifications.
GPS machine control and laser grading systems.
Complex grading and drainage.
Crew leadership and project coordination.
Solving field issues independently.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of excavation or civil construction experience.
Previous experience supervising excavation crews.
Experience developing residential subdivisions.
Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements.
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
CDL is a plus.
