Location: Macon, GA (100% Onsite)
Salary: $50,000–$60,000 annually
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Reports To: Director of Finance
Travel Required: None

First Call Direct Hire Division seeks an experienced Credit & Collections Specialist for a company in Macon, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in commercial credit, accounts receivable, and collections who wants long-term career growth.

This position offers the potential for advancement into a Credit & Collections Manager role, overseeing one direct report in the future.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience evaluating customer creditworthiness, establishing credit limits, managing past-due accounts, and maintaining strong business relationships while minimizing financial risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial business-to-business (B2B) credit and collections activities for multiple business entities.

• Review and process new customer credit applications and establish customer accounts.

• Analyze customer financial statements, credit reports, and trade references to assess credit risk.

• Establish, monitor, and review customer credit limits.

• Review and release customer orders placed on credit hold.

• Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively collect past-due balances.

• Communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices, payment arrangements, and account discrepancies.

• Negotiate payment solutions while maintaining positive customer relationships.

• Maintain accurate customer account records and resolve billing or payment issues.

• Work closely with internal departments to support credit and collections operations.

• Identify potential credit risks and recommend appropriate solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial (B2B) credit and collections experience.

• Experience analyzing customer financial statements and making credit decisions.

• Proven experience establishing and managing customer credit limits.

• Experience reviewing credit applications, credit reports, and trade references.

• Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and general accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Experience working with ERP or accounting software.

• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to negotiate payment arrangements professionally and effectively.

• High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

• Experience handling complex commercial credit accounts.

• Leadership potential and interest in future management opportunities.
