Provides leadership, direction, and administration of all aspects of the health information management department. Responsible for record processing and completion, transmission, indexing, and abstracting. Ensures the timeliness and accuracy of acute and ambulatory coding, filing, storage, trauma registry, transcription, retrieval, and release of information. Manages the suspension process with physicians and maintenance of systems processes. Oversees the overall management of health information department activity. Establishes and ensures compliance with policies for the health information function. Represents the department in all activities related to areas of responsibility. Maintains communication with leadership and staff.
