DePuy Synthes seeks an Import & Re-Export Lead to manage cross-border import, temporary import, and re-export operations for the United States and Canada. The role ensures customs compliance, optimizes trade programs, and supports supply chain initiatives while overseeing customs brokers and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import, temporary import, and re-export activities across US and Canada operations
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian customs regulations and special medical device importation requirements
- Lead customs programs including temporary imports, duty relief, duty drawback, and bonded programs
- Oversee customs brokers and service providers, managing performance and issue resolution
- Identify and implement duty optimization opportunities and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Customs & Trade, or related field
- Minimum 7+ years import/export operations, customs compliance, or international trade experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian customs regulations and cross-border trade processes
- Experience managing temporary importation, duty drawback, bonded programs, and customs special procedures
- Proven track record managing customs brokers and third-party logistics providers
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive change in complex matrix organizations
