JP Court Case Manager - Justice of the Peace, Pct. 3

Service customers; reviews and processes requests in person, by telephone, fax and/or mail. Collects and receipts fees over the counter and by mail; acts as a cashier. Inputs data into the computer data base in order for the Justice Courts to have easy access to the information. Manages civil and criminal court documents by preparing, filing, processing, entering, issuing, recording and setting dockets according to cases filed. Prepares, files, assigns, and dockets new civil and criminal cases based on office policy and state statute to ensure accuracy of filings. Maintains confidentiality and security of documents, data and courtroom proceedings. Maintains knowledge, understanding and proficiency of case management to minimize errors. Trains, instructs and evaluates subordinates. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. Minimum Job Requirements High School Diploma/GED. 2 years of job related experience within a legal system. Experience in Justice of the Peace Court preferred. Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM). Excellent research, organizational, and written skills. Interpersonal skills and must have ability to interact with the public, employees and elected officials. STARTING SALARY RANGE $20.50 - $25.63 hourly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE Upon filling position All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
