Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Opportunity

The Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join its multidisciplinary team, supporting both the new Chesterfield Pavilion ambulatory practice and VCU Health's Mobile Oncology Unit. This role will provide comprehensive oncology care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, care coordination, education, and supervision of chemotherapy infusions. As part of the Mobile Oncology Unit, the APP will travel from Richmond to rural FQHC locations across Virginia, working closely with VCU Health oncology physicians through onsite and telehealth collaboration to expand access to high-quality cancer care.

The Mobile Oncology Unit will feature 34 chemotherapy treatment chairs, an exam room, and telehealth capabilities. Expected mobile clinic hours are approximately 9:30 a.m.3:30 p.m., with travel time to and from each site. Hours may vary based on location and clinic needs.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP- NP, PA) provides high-quality medical and/or surgical patient care. This position provides care to patients with acute and chronic complaints in collaboration with the Attending Physician. The Advanced Practice Provider provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or preventive healthcare service on a Collaborative APP/Physician team.

The Advanced Practice Provider works collaboratively with the medical team to deliver organized, timely, cost effective and quality patient care. The Advanced Practice Provider will provide patient care under a defined departmental and state-approved scope of practice with the collaboration of an Attending Physician(s).

Employment Qualifications

Required Education:

Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife or Physician Assistant Program

Preferred Education:

Service-specific education

Licensure/Certification Required:

Current Virginia licensure from the appropriate Board as a Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Midwife, or Physician Assistant

Current national certification as appropriate for the role

Credentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws for specific job titles

Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications; Additional certifications, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric services, may be determined at the department level

Licensure/Certification Preferred:

Service-specific certification

Compensation Grade Ranges: APP Ambulatory: $127,595.60 - $154,073.84 APP Critical Care: $137,327.32 - $165,786.33 APP Hospital: $130,408.90 - $155,200.02 APP C/T Surgery: $141,620.36 - $176,276.81 Actual Salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
