Senior HL7 Interface Developer

We are seeking a skilled Senior HL7 Interface Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare data exchange interfaces. This role involves working with HL7 standards, integration engines, and APIs to ensure seamless interoperability across healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HL7 v2.x, FHIR, and integration platforms such as Rhapsody, along with a strong understanding of provider data workflows and healthcare compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain interfaces using HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3, FHIR, and custom APIs. Configure and support healthcare integration engines (Rhapsody preferred; Cloverleaf, Mirth, Ensemble acceptable). Translate business requirements into technical solutions for healthcare data exchange. Collaborate with internal and external teams to implement real-time and batch integration workflows. Ensure compliance with healthcare standards including HIPAA, HL7, and FHIR. Troubleshoot interface issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Create and maintain technical documentation for interfaces and data mappings. Work with provider data teams to integrate and normalize provider records across systems. Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience in HL7 development and integration. Strong proficiency in HL7 v2.x (e.g., ADT, ORU, ORM) and FHIR standards. Hands-on experience with Rhapsody or similar integration platforms (Cloverleaf, Mirth/NextGen Connect, Ensemble). Solid understanding of healthcare provider data structures and workflows. Familiarity with APIs (REST, SOAP), XML, JSON, and healthcare data formats. Experience working with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with HL7 v3 and advanced FHIR implementations.
