Job Description

The Construction Laborer is responsible for performing a wide variety of physical tasks on commercial and residential construction sites. This position involves site preparation, material handling, assisting skilled tradespeople, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, clearing obstacles, and setting up safety barriers or scaffolding.
• Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment to designated work areas.
• Assist carpenters, masons, electricians, and other skilled trades with daily project tasks.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and light machinery safely and efficiently.
• Follow safety policies, site rules, and OSHA regulations at all times.
• Coordinate work instructions effectively with site supervisors, project managers, and crew members.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized condition.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1–2 years of general construction or hands-on labor experience.
• Strong understanding of job-site safety rules and hazard awareness.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors and crew leads.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hardworking team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction safety certification.
• Experience operating light construction equipment (e.g., compaction equipment, mixers, skid steers).
• Prior experience working on active commercial or residential building sites.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or more) consistently throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, twist, and climb ladders for extended periods.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and dynamic job-site environments.
