Senior Software Developer/Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer / Data Engineer to support business-critical initiatives within a leading financial services organization. This role involves developing best practices for data movement and transformation, contributing to engineering solutions, and collaborating across business and technology teams to deliver impactful results. Key Responsibilities Partner with product owners, peers, and end-users to gather business requirements and identify risks or issues. Serve as a liaison between business units, Finance, and Technology to optimize engineering solutions. Provide technical guidance on the business implications of application development projects. Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python and SQL, particularly within the Spark framework. Work on data management and transformation projects, including querying databases and migrating legacy platforms to modern data streaming solutions. Research and implement cutting-edge technologies to support project goals. Contribute to test automation and ensure quality in data engineering processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 6–8+ years of experience in software development and data engineering. Strong expertise in Python development and design. Experience with big data technologies and frameworks, especially Spark. Proficiency in SQL and data querying techniques. Hands-on experience with AWS services including Glue, EMR/EC2, DynamoDB, and Lambda. Familiarity with test automation practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the financial services industry. Exposure to data streaming platforms and modern data architecture.
