About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: CT Technologist Duration: Full Time Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Not specified Experience: Minimum years of experience not specified License: Current ARRT in Radiography Certifications: Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years Must-Have: - Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality. - Knowledgeable in principles of growth and development over the lifespan. - Ability to assess patient data and provide appropriate care. - Competency in multiple imaging modalities is preferred. Description: The Radiologic Technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in the assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate an understanding of growth and development principles and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. It is essential to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's needs and provide necessary care as described in departmental policies and procedures. All employees must adhere to the organization's mission, vision, and key values. Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job: Must provide radiographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation. Must exercise professional judgment in performance of procedures while applying principles of radiation protection. Perform diagnostic medical radiography in the department and other areas as needed. Maintain patient records and files accordingly. Assume responsibility for the departmental quality assurance program. Pursue continuing education to enhance professional development. Transfer patients to and from radiology effectively. In the absence of a supervisor, assume responsibility for departmental duties. Rotate shifts as required and perform ancillary duties as requested. Follow policies and procedures established by administration. Assist in maintaining the general hygiene of the department and self. Work well under stress and be available to take call, reporting to work within 20 minutes when needed. Willingness to learn other imaging modalities as required by management. Must be able to perform duties in multiple fields of imaging, including XR, MRI, CT, and Mammography. Maintain competency in ancillary modalities and be prepared to perform other assigned duties. CT/Interventional Responsibilities: Responsible for the care of equipment in this area. Responsible for maintaining records and assisting with invasive procedures as needed. Take an active role in the preparation of procedures in this area. Consult with referring physicians as necessary. Strive toward achieving competent venipuncture. Follow standard precautions and alter protocols to provide quality care for various age groups. Set up and run automatic injectors proficiently. Be familiar with contraindications of contrast agents. Competent in tele-radiology transmission and sterile techniques. Actively assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies. Secondary Functions: Attend departmental and organizational meetings, in-services, and disaster drills as required.
