Staff Psychologist - NeuropsychologistThis position is located at the Chillicothe Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Chillicothe, OH. The Staff Psychologist - Neuropsychologist provides Psychological Services in support of the Mental Health Care Line. The incumbent provides professional consultation pertaining to human behavior, determining the reasons for that behavior and predicting and/or modifying the behavior. The incumbent works individually or as a member of a multi disciplinary treatment team to provide recommendations, and/or treatment plans concerning psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Performs psychological and neuropsychological assessment, evaluation and treatment of patients with problems of cognitive deficits, personality, emotional adjustment or mental illness.Performs psychotherapy with patients, either through individual sessions or through group therapy sessions.Uses a variety of intelligence, neuropsychological, and personality assessment measures.Provides verbal feedback on assessment results, diagnosis and recommendations to the patient and/or their family/caregiver/guardian.Writes clear, concise reports in response to consultation requests.Plans and conducts group and individual psychotherapy.Provides advice to other staff professionals in an attempt to promote and preserve a therapeutic environment for individual patients.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Recruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
