The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing manufacturing projects.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary information for bids.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
- Present detailed cost breakdowns and proposals to management and clients.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and propose solutions.
- Maintain and update a database of cost information and historical data for future reference.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed cost breakdowns and financial analysis.
- Experience with estimating software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing context.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
