Transportation Specialist

Job Summary Assist MHC staff with transportation for their consumers to essential appointments concerning their treatment and recovery. Tuesday- Saturday 10:00 AM-6:30 PM. Position Responsibilities Transport consumers to and from designated appointments. Transport medications to be delivered to consumers. Communicate with the team regarding consumer concerns and/or transportation issues. Attend team, department, and Agency meetings as required. Maintain the MHC vehicles in optimal condition and report any concerns to the Transportation Supervisor. Inspect assigned vehicle at the beginning of the work shift and complete vehicle inspection form. Complete all required paperwork in a legible and timely manner. Respond expediently to all communication with office. Manage route, calling consumers prior to leaving the office and planning the route effectively. Other Responsibilities Attend all mandatory in‑services, continuing education, and annual health requirements. Comply with all Corporate Compliance policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unethical activities to supervisor, Corporate Compliance Office, Values Hotline number, or Human Resource Director. Comply with all OSHA and safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe practices or accidents to supervisor, Safety Supervisor, and/or OSHA Coordinator. Comply with regulations concerning the privacy and security of consumer’s protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill. Essential Skills and Experience High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Essential Requirements for the Position Valid Tennessee Driver’s License. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR). Acceptable Criminal Background Investigation. Personal Automobile Insurance with “F” Endorsement. Core Competencies Customer Service – Maintains a friendly customer service attitude, builds appropriate rapport with consumers and teammates, and assists consumers with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed. Communications – Notifies case managers when a consumer is a “no‑show,” responds expediently to all communication with office and supervisor, and notifies supervisor of concerns, issues, or ideas. Dependability – Schedules PTO in advance. Time Management/Organization – Reviews route schedule the day before and calls consumers to remind them of their appointment, consistently gets consumers to appointments on time, and ensures minimal wait time when a consumer is ready for pick‑up. Team Oriented – Is on time to all meetings, assists other drivers when needed, and assists other departments with transports including Crisis, CSU, IIC and the HOST program. Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics involve walking, standing, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 15 pounds.
