Role Summary As a Competitive Employment Advisor, you'll be the catalyst for transformation. Your mission is to provide direct and indirect services to individuals with disabilities, helping them secure and thrive in meaningful employment. This role involves developing work opportunities, offering career development services, providing on-the-job coaching, and ensuring job retention. You'll be a supportive partner, maintaining a flexible work schedule to accommodate the employment goals and schedules of individuals receiving services and be on call when issues arise that warrant support or action. A Day In The Life Of A Competitive Employment Advisor Empower & Inspire: Assessing strengths, removing barriers, and crafting personalized employment plans to empower individuals to achieve their goals Guided Exploration: Accompanying clients on job shadows, work trials, and career exploration activities, setting them on the path to success Elevate Employability: Enhancing job readiness by assisting with resume writing, job applications, and honing interview and soft skills Building Bridges: Cultivating relationships with employers, organizations, and agencies to create job opportunities and vocational training options Sustain Success: Offering unwavering support to clients through the Supported Employment Follow Along program On-the-Job Coaching: Providing hands‑on guidance and accommodations for clients to excel in their roles Resource Connector: Guiding clients to external services when additional support is needed Business Liaison: Fostering strong ties between clients and their workplace leadership, ensuring seamless integration into the work environment Document & Communicate: Maintaining precise documentation and transparent communication to ensure the best possible support for our clients Experience & Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. Bachelor’s degree preferred BCI requires proof of education 3–5 years of experience in Employment Services preferred Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred Demonstrated passion and commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) CPR and First Aid Certification required (training provided if not currently certified) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task and remain self‑directed Ability to problem‑solve effectively in real‑time environments Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with employers, families, and service partners Strong understanding and consistent use of professional boundaries Flexible schedule to meet the needs of individuals served Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with the ability to travel locally Location St. Louis County, Missouri (working with clients in St. Louis and surrounding counties) Pay $21–22/hr Benefits Nine (9) Paid Holidays Bereavement leave Jury Duty 128 Hours of accruable PTO Employer‑subsidized Health, Dental and Vision, with a partial in‑network deductible reimbursement plan Immediate vesting in 403b with up to 4% salary match 100% employer‑paid Short‑term Disability (60% pay for up to 13 weeks, with $750 weekly maximum) 100% employer‑paid Long‑term Disability (60% pay up to retirement age, with $5,000 monthly maximum) 100% employer‑paid Life, Accidental Death, and Dismemberment plan with a $20,000 benefit 100% employer‑paid Employee Assistance Plan (EAP), and TravelConnect Travel Assistance Equal Opportunity Employer Equal Opportunity Employer/Program.
