Lead Cook - Radix Recovery ProgramHorizons, A Family Service Alliance | Cedar Rapids, IAFull-time, hourly | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM (occasional evening/weekend events)About the roleHorizons is looking for a Lead Cook to oversee food production at the Radix Recovery Program location. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll prepare and cook meals while guiding a small kitchen team to keep everything running accurately, safely, and on schedule. If you take pride in quality food and want your work to serve a real community mission, we'd love to hear from you.What you'll doPrepare and cook meals in line with program menus and dietary guidelinesLead and coordinate the daily work of a small kitchen teamManage food and supply inventory, including ordering and storageMaintain food safety, sanitation, and equipment standards to meet county, state, and federal requirements (including USDA commodity food handling)Oversee daily meal setup, serving, breakdown, and cleanupPartner with the Director of Community Health & Nutrition and Nutrition Services Manager on daily operations and catering eventsAdapt to shifting priorities to keep meal production on trackWhat we're looking forAssociate's degree in food service management or a related field, and/or 3–5 years of experience in quantity food preparation and serviceServSafe or equivalent certificationStrong leadership, organization, and team-supervision skillsComfort with a personal computer and Microsoft OfficeValid Iowa driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable personal transportationAbility to lift 40–50 lbs and stand/walk for long periodsSuccessful completion of a background check (convictions are reviewed individually and don't automatically disqualify candidates)Our valuesIntegrity, Inclusivity, and Compassion.
