Survey Project Manager

A growing engineering and surveying firm is hiring a Survey Project Manager with strong NJDOT project experience to lead transportation-related survey efforts. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who can manage projects, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality deliverables on complex public infrastructure work. What You’ll Do: Lead survey projects tied to NJDOT standards and requirements from kickoff through completion Manage scope, schedules, budgets, and client communication Oversee field and office teams performing ROW, boundary, topographic, and control surveys Prepare proposals, estimates, and support ongoing business development Ensure compliance with NJDOT procedures, QA/QC standards, and safety protocols Review and approve final survey deliverables Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders What You Bring: 7+ years of land surveying experience with a strong focus on NJDOT projects Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams Expertise in ROW, boundary, topographic, and survey control work Proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Carlson, and Leica equipment/software Strong communication and organizational skills Valid driver’s license Preferred: NJ and/or NY Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license Experience working with public agencies and transportation infrastructure projects Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer and advanced survey workflows This is a high‑impact role offering strong growth, leadership visibility, and the chance to work on major infrastructure projects across the region.
