An integral part of our mission and practice is to develop partnerships with families and community organizations that prepare and empower children to embrace learning, a strong sense of self, and social connection as essential tools for growth and achievement.Overall ResponsibilityUnder the direction of the Director of Administration, The Maintenance Tech is responsible for a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of Flance property and equipment. This position is responsible for maintaining electrical, mechanical and related systems. Responsible for reporting and completing all safety related maintenance duties.InteractionsReviews monthly facility walkthrough findings needing addressing with Director of Administration. Receives and reviews work order requests submitted by staff.Instructs volunteers on workday projects.Assists Director of Administration with contacting contractors for needed repairs.ImplementationAssist in determining plan to address maintenance/repair needs.Completes daily, weekly or monthly maintenance/repair needs including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall or any other cosmetic repair.Cleans HVAC equipment as needed.Assembles classroom equipment. PlanningCompletes monthly facility walkthrough.Develop list of contractors for maintenance/repair needs which cannot be completed internally.Skills and AttributesAttention to detail and ability to follow throughProfessional appearance and demeanorMust be welcoming and approachableMust be extremely well-organized and flexible; strong time management skills.Desire to work around children and families, people of all agesEnvironmental FactorsWorks indoor and outdoors. Noise and activity levels can be high; staff, visitors, families and children come and go at all times. Position requires a health screen and annual Family Safety Registry background check. Flance Center is a busy, unique environment. Employees are expected to participate fully in the life of the Center.
