Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med-Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required Must-Have: Willingness to float Description: Candidates must be willing to float. 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees are available. Overtime is not billable until after 48 hours. Weekend requirement: 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule. No on-call requirement. Nurse/patient ratio is 6:1. EMR used: Epic. Dress code: Ceil blue scrubs. The competent nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to set long-range goals. Continues to develop the ability to manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers while identifying issues and resources.
