Coordinator IV – Talent Management Job ID: 7444 | Reports to: Chief Officer of Talent | PC#: 25333 | Grade 404 | 239 Days | Salary: $85,893 – $103,487 | FLSA Status: Exempt Position Purpose The Coordinator of Talent Management serves as a project manager within the Talent Management division, supporting the Chief of Talent Management in executing strategic initiatives, operational priorities, and cross‑functional projects. The position coordinates high‑impact talent initiatives, monitors project implementation timelines, facilitates communication across departments, and ensures organizational alignment with district goals. The coordinator works closely with district leaders, campuses, and departments to manage complex projects related to recruitment, staffing, employee experience, organizational effectiveness, and talent systems. This role requires strong organizational leadership, strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Recruitment & Staffing Serve as project manager for the Talent Management initiatives led by the Chief of Talent Management. Develop and maintain project plans, implementation timelines, deliverables, and progress monitoring systems. Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives involving Talent Management, Finance, Academic Services, Operations, Schools and other departments. Support implementation of district strategic priorities related to staffing, recruitment, retention, and workforce effectiveness. Facilitate meetings; prepare presentations, communications, and agendas; research and aggregate document action items, and track accountability measures. Innovate and design the best candidate attraction strategies. Develop and implement compelling career opportunities in collaboration with District leaders. Monitor vacancies and work with hiring supervisors to fill positions in a timely manner. Serve as the primary point of contact for hiring professional employees; provide comprehensive information about the hiring process as well as general information about all aspects of HCM. Work with District leaders to forecast staffing needs and develop staffing plans. Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies, and screening/selection processes. Identify market trends and develop recruitment marketing materials for communication to applicants both locally and out of state. Travel to professional events, job fairs, and conferences to recruit top talent. Maintain ongoing targeted contact with prospective applicants through email, telephone, and other means of communication. Maintain and update applicant data by checking references, transcripts, teaching certificates, and experience for hiring purposes. Employee Issues Take a proactive role in identifying and responding to employee issues; collaborate with District leadership to ensure preemptive and effective employee communications. Assist supervisors and principals with employee counseling, improvement plans, and due‑process procedures, where needed. Interpret policies and procedures; ensure support of leadership, employees, and government agencies on employment, record keeping, retirement, grievances, and other personnel matters. Work closely with leadership to resolve employee issues involving District employees. Stay abreast of all pertinent Federal, State, Local, and District policies and procedures concerning employee issues. Compliance & Collaboration Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal employment laws. Stay abreast of State and Federal public policy changes that could impact the District. Follow District safety protocols and emergency procedures. Participate in collaborative work as needed during high‑volume time periods related to annual team calendar and the primary functions of the division. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of all Human Capital functions such as staffing, hiring. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, as well as District policies and procedures. Knowledge of selection, training, and supervision of personnel. Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation, and staff supervision. Knowledge of wage and salary, benefits, and performance appraisal administration. Knowledge of general and education employment law and hearing procedures. Knowledge of market planning for recruitment purposes. Skill in working with initiatives that require collaboration with District and outside agencies and organizations. Skill in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points communicated, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others. Skill in researching and writing with a strong knowledge of business correspondence formatting, including language, grammar, and punctuation. Skill in public relations, organizational systems development, communication, and interpersonal relationships. Ability to work effectively in collaborative teams, including teams from other departments. Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence. Ability to implement policy and procedures. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to use software to access databases, email, create spreadsheets, and do word processing. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written forms. Ability to engage in self‑evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Travel Requirements Travel to school District buildings and professional meetings as required. Physical & Mental Demands, Work Hazards Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals. Posture: Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 35 pounds) in preparation for meetings, career fairs, and event setup. Environment: Works in an office setting; frequently requires irregular and/or prolonged hours. Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position; frequently requires irregular and/or prolonged hours. Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions. Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required. Master’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Major in a field related to human resources management, labor relations, public relations or education administration preferred. Certification/License: Certification in human resources such as Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Professional Human Capital Leaders in Education (pHCLE) preferred. Experience: 3 years’ progressively responsible experience in human resources management or education administration required.
