Software Engineer 1-2 Full Time – Annapolis Junction, MD, US Company Overview Metrea Algorithmics (MAX) is an electronic warfare and cyberspace solutions and engineering services company that supports the Department of Defense. With deep asset, mission, industry and finance expertise, and a truly global reach, Metrea focuses on de‑risking the customer’s aerospace requirements across a number of different mission verticals. Position Summary As a Metrea Algorithmics Software Engineer, you will assist in the design and development of the core MAX software applications and products. You will participate in the integration of COTS components and the development of proprietary software on a team of software developers, support mission operations, testing, and reporting. The position requires full‑stack and cloud development as well as a basic understanding of networking functionality. Tasks vary day to day, and the developer will support internal and external customers by integrating products and services. Essential Functions Statements Assist in the development and integration of the MAX components and systems Assist in the integration of COTS components into a larger system Develop software in JAVA, React, Ansible, MySQL Support mission operations of MAX products and services Research COTS and perform engineering trade‑off analysis and risk assessment Competency Statements Experience or understanding of software development and networking Ability to learn challenging concepts quickly, decompose difficult software problems, and provide resolution Familiarity with cloud development and deployments Familiarity with database and query languages Familiarity with Linux operating systems Familiarity with network protocols Experience with Docker, YAML, and IntelliJ Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and maximize productivity Familiarity with CI/CD and Agile development methods and tools Supervisory Responsibility This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical, office setting. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are routinely used. Physical Demands This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical activities may be required. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position with typical working hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt employees must have the ability to be on‑call and available as business needs require. Non‑exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with departmental manager approval. Travel Travel requirements are less than 10%.
